An interdisciplinary collaboration between Melika Moazeni (Kunsthochschule Mainz) and Ines Schäfer (Kunsthochschule Kassel)
It is neither a shop window nor a mirror, and yet it is both at the same time. It is a space for self-gratification in front of potential viewers. It is a boundary between your inner privacy and the shameless outside world. You don’t need much. Just a glass pane with a dark background and a little light. One side transparent, the other reflective. The floating boundary. The perfect narcissist and the identity-less, curious child. The preoccupied self and the viewers. Everyone is invited.
Moazeni and Schäfer explore the outer and inner aspects of the human being on various levels. In doing so, they address many different complexes and phenomena that are part of this being’s identity. BEICHTECKE becomes the axis and the intersection between these two worlds.
